Telethon Speech & Hearing (TSH) is a Western Australian not-for-profit organisation, registered charity, independent school and NDIS provider that has helped children with speech, language and hearing difficulties lead fulfilling lives since 1966.

About Us

We are a proud Western Australian success story and a family centred practice. TSH (formally Telethon Speech & Hearing) provides integrated services for children with hearing loss and/or speech and language difficulties from newborns to 18-year-olds. A team of education professionals work collaboratively alongside allied health professionals to empower children to hear, communicate, connect and learn.

About the Role

We are seeking passionate and experienced early years Occupational Therapists to be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating group and individual Occupational Therapy sessions relevant to the developmental, sensory motor, sensory processing and regulation, visual perceptual and self-help goals of early years children.

Our programs consist of multi-disciplinary teams including teachers, psychologists, speech pathologists, audiologists, occupational therapists and education assistants.

The roles available are as follows:

- 12 month Fixed Term. Full-Time supporting 3 - 6 year olds in an exciting new role which will support approximately 1,100 Aboriginal and at-risk children.

- Based in Wembley, you will be involved in providing individual and small group intervention with school aged children via telehealth.



This role will also require travel to Geraldton and the greater Mid-West on a termly basis. Trip duration will be approximately 5 nights.

- 12 month Fixed Term maternity leave cover based in Wembley, you will complete OT individual assessment and intervention within our OT clinic providing early intervention support for 0 - 8 year olds.

About You

As we pride ourselves on being experts in our field, we are seeking experienced early years Occupational Therapists who share our commitment to excellence by using evidence-based practice and up to date professional knowledge to deliver the highest level of service to children and their families. You will also be a collaborative and nurturing professional who aligns with our organisational values and supports our child safety practices.

You must be able to demonstrate:

- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of early childhood intervention for children 0-6 years of age.

- Solid experience working with children and their families

- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to enable professional interaction with a range of people including parents, visitors, management and other TSH staff.

- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

- Excellent time management and organisational skills.

- Experience and commitment to dealing with confidential child records and/or business records and information.





- Commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

- A willingness to work across all TSH programs as required

You will possess the following qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.

You must also:

- hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and National Police Clearance.

- hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

- eligibility to apply for a Medicare Provider number
