The Role

This is a pivotal role within the group, responsible for maintaining and evolving the risk and compliance frameworks across our consumer credit businesses. You’ll ensure strong regulatory, customer, and business outcomes while enabling innovation and scalable growth. As Risk & Compliance Manager, you’ll operate as the company’s independent second line of defence — ensuring alignment with ASIC, AUSTRAC, AML and Privacy obligations, and working closely with the first line to maintain a high-performance, compliant culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continuously enhance the Risk Management Framework and Compliance program.

• Maintain the compliance obligations register, monitor performance, and oversee breach and incident management in line with ASIC RG 78.





• Coordinate risk reporting for executive and board audiences.

• Collaborate with Credit Risk and functional teams to systemise compliance monitoring through tools such as Power BI or equivalent.

• Lead compliance investigations, root cause analysis, and improvement initiatives that strengthen customer and regulatory outcomes.

• Liaise with legal advisors, industry bodies, and regulators to ensure policy governance aligns with the NCCP Act, ASIC Regulatory Guides, AUSTRAC, and Privacy Act.

• Support innovation and technology adoption while maintaining compliance and governance integrity.

About You

You’re a pragmatic, commercially aware compliance professional with strong financial services experience. You understand the regulatory expectations of consumer credit and can translate them into scalable, tech-enabled frameworks. You’ll bring:

- 7+ years in risk, compliance, or audit within consumer lending, fintech, or financial services.
- Demonstrated success embedding frameworks in rapid-growth or scale-up environments.
- Excellent communication across operational and executive teams — explicit, persuasive, and calm under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Commerce, Business, or Accounting.
- Professional qualifications in risk or governance (e.g., RMIA, GRCI, or GIA) desirable.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with high integrity and curiosity.
