Estimated weekly 30+ hours
Shift start times range from 5.30am to 10.30am with expected finish times no later than 3pm most days (some exceptions)

We operate under the Restaurant Industry Award MA000119 (Including any applicable Junior rates)

The Urban Dragonfly Coffee Lounge is a well respected café and meet up venue in Bundy. We have a reputation for providing exceptional hospitality experiences to our community. This is a very busy café, therefore our available positions are best suited to applicants with proven cafe experience (Barista and/or food preparation) and regular availability across the 6 day working week. The ability to stay calm under pressure, work quickly and accurately, work well with others. Be able to follow direction, while having the ability to identify and resolve issues as they arise.

What will you be doing?

As a member of the Urban Dragonfly family, you are responsible for contributing to and maintaining the presentation, and overall atmosphere of the cafe during every shift.

Standard daily activities could include:

· Preparing/plating FOH delivered food dishes to a consistent high standard

· Refilling, rotating and organising stock, including fridges and display shelving

· Listening to your customer. Take and accurately record customer orders (including special requests or changes) while ensuring the integrity of our menu is not compromised

· Understanding the menu and providing relevant detail to customers as needed





· Preparing cold drinks (including milkshakes and smoothies)

· Preparing beverages using a La Marzocco 3 group espresso machine

· Monitoring coffee quality throughout entire shift

· Communicating with the greater team to manage coffee flow during "rushes"

· Performing basic maintenance on the coffee machine and accessories, including regular cleaning of group heads and handles, steam wands, trays, milk jug sprayers.

· Operating the Point-of-Sale system (Square) with confidence

· Clearing and cleaning all tables, washing and putting away dishes

· Following correct food safety, hygiene, and cleaning guidelines

Who are you?

· Enjoy working with people and provide excellent customer service

· Robust communication skills

· Confident multitasking in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

· Regular availability to work during relevant hours as detailed above

· Capable of working actively on your feet for 4 plus hours at a time and perform some lifting

· Respectful of team culture and the need for honesty, reliability and punctuality

· Hard working and enthusiastic

· Have reliable access to transport

· Must hold valid work authorisation to work in Australia
