The Opportunity
The Head of Agentic SDLC is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for setting the vision and scaling enterprise-wide adoption of the Agentic Enabled SDLC (ADLC) across Woolworths Group. Managing a team of direct reports and operating within the W Digital domain, this position establishes the tools, workflows, AI safety guardrails, and FinOps frameworks necessary for dependable and high-performing software delivery. You will coach engineering teams, establish governance, and lead senior stakeholder engagement to transform how digital capabilities are engineered. Ultimately, this role drives a once-in-a-generation shift in technology operating model, directly impacting engineering productivity, quality, and business value across the organisation.
What you'll do
- Lead the strategy,
evolution, and enterprise-wide rollout of the Agentic Enabled SDLC (ADLC) capability across all Group Technology domains.
- Define well-architected principles, governance frameworks, AI safety controls, and quality mechanisms to build trust in automated outcomes.
- Establish and oversee the FinOps cost accountability model, connecting tooling and cloud consumption directly to business ROI and productivity gains.
- Partner with Domain Leaders and senior business stakeholders to drive capability adoption, improve delivery cycle times and optimise team member experience.
- Design and execute capability building, training, and certification programs to mature team expertise across Agentic frameworks, DevSecOps, and AI safety.
- Manage a team of direct reports, cultivating internal expertise, succession plans, and continuous improvement processes sourced from industry and internal innovation.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience as a strategic leader of leaders with expertise in modern enterprise architecture, software engineering, and DevSecOps principles.
- Hands-on knowledge of Agentic Frameworks, MCP tools, and AI-enabled software delivery methodologies, with a drive to maintain practical application skills.
- Strong track record of establishing governance, compliance guardrails, and operating models within hybrid centralized and federated engineering structures.
- Solid commercial acumen and understanding of FinOps principles to manage cloud consumption, tool licensing, and ROI measurement.
- Exceptional horizontal leadership, negotiation,
and change management skills to influence senior stakeholders across complex corporate environments.
- A pragmatic, visionary mindset capable of balancing high-impact central controls with squad-level delivery autonomy.
