An exciting opportunity is available for a Lawyer or Senior Associate to join a leading Construction & Infrastructure practice in Melbourne.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex construction and infrastructure matters across the energy, resources, real estate and civil infrastructure sectors. You will join a high-performing and collaborative team with exposure to both contentious and front-end work, advising clients on significant projects and complex commercial disputes.

The Team

The Construction & Infrastructure practice works across the Energy, Resources, Real Estate and Civil Infrastructure sectors, providing lawyers with exposure to a broad cross-section of major projects and sophisticated commercial matters.
The team takes a practical and commercially focused approach, working closely with clients to resolve complex disputes while also providing front-end advice to help manage risk and achieve successful project outcomes. The practice offers an entrepreneurial and innovative workplace where lawyers are encouraged to develop their technical expertise and build strong client relationships.

The Role

Based in Melbourne, you will work across a diverse range of construction and infrastructure matters, with a particular focus on back-end disputes while also gaining exposure to front-end work.
You will advise clients on complex construction and commercial disputes, while having the opportunity to work on front-end matters including contract drafting, negotiation and project advisory work. The role provides exposure to major projects across energy, resources, real estate and civil infrastructure, allowing you to develop a broad understanding of the construction lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

- Advising clients on complex construction and commercial disputes.
- Acting on significant construction and infrastructure litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Providing front-end construction advice, including contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- Advising clients on project risks, contractual obligations and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Working across major projects in the energy, resources, real estate and civil infrastructure sectors.
- Building strong client relationships and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice.
- Working collaboratively with experienced lawyers while developing your technical expertise and commercial judgement.

Requirements:

- Admission as a lawyer in Australia.
- 3–7 years' post-admission experience.
- Demonstrated construction and infrastructure experience, ideally with a back-end focus and some front-end exposure.
- Experience gained either in-house or within a reputable private practice.
- A genuine passion for construction law and an interest in working across both contentious and transactional matters.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.




- An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work collaboratively while managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work.
