Senior Associate – Finance

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Associate to join a leading Finance team in Sydney.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a broad range of high-quality banking and finance matters for major banks, non-bank lenders and corporate borrowers. The Team

The Finance team is recognised for its strong technical capability and commercial approach, acting for banks, non-bank lenders, corporate borrowers and government entities. The team works closely with clients to understand their strategic and commercial objectives and has established strong relationships with many of Australia's leading banks and financiers.
The Sydney team works as part of a national practice, with opportunities to collaborate with experienced lawyers across Sydney and Brisbane. The team prides itself on its collegiate culture, high standards and commitment to professional development, providing an excellent environment for senior lawyers looking to take the next step in their careers.

The Role

Due to recent growth, we are seeking a proactive and motivated Senior Associate to join the Sydney Finance team.
You will advise on a broad range of banking and finance transactions across sectors including residential and commercial real estate, food and agribusiness, healthcare, education, resources, government and technology. You will play a key role across all stages of finance transactions, including structuring, due diligence, facility and security documentation,



legislative and regulatory compliance and complex advisory matters.
As a senior member of the team, you will have direct client contact, contribute to transaction management and mentor junior lawyers. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to business development activities and develop your own client relationships with strong support from the wider team.

Responsibilities include:

- Advising major banks, non-bank lenders, corporate borrowers and government clients on a broad range of finance transactions.
- Advising on transaction structuring, due diligence and legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating facility, security and other finance documentation.
- Managing transactions and working closely with clients and other advisers to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.
- Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the development of the wider team.

Requirements:

- Strong post-admission experience in banking and finance law, ideally at Senior Associate level.
- Demonstrated experience working on a broad range of finance transactions within private practice.
- Strong technical expertise and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in banking and finance.




- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Robust matter management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach, with a desire to develop leadership capability and contribute at a senior level.
