Administration Officer - Casual
- Provide quality frontline customer service as a first point of contact for Circular Head Council, delivering courteous, enthusiastic and informative service to customers across phone, email, in-person and mail enquiries.
- Undertake reception, clerical and administrative support duties, including maintaining relevant procedures and forms, using Council systems and processes, and supporting staff and other departments as operational needs arise.
- Maintain Council cashiering and banking systems, including receipting for rates, debtors, animal registrations, regulatory applications and other Council services, together with daily reconciliation and preparation of banking.
- Develop sound working knowledge of Council activities and projects, accurately record customer requests in Council systems, and translate Council needs into effective service delivery through the customer service team.

Position Overview
The Administration Officer - Casual undertakes customer service administration duties and acts as a first point of contact for Circular Head Council through the provision of highly productive, courteous and effective customer service.
The position provides reception and information services to customers, general staff support, and assistance to other departments across Council as operational needs arise.
The Officer is expected to develop sound working knowledge of Council activities and projects and contribute to effective service delivery through the customer service team. The role may also assist other Council teams and undertake other duties as required and directed.
Work conditions will be in accordance with Circular Head Council Enterprise Agreement.

Candidate Profile
Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Administration Officer with demonstrated experience in an office environment and a strong commitment to professional frontline service. The successful candidate will be organised, adaptable and able to work positively within a team while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.
- A current Driver Licence and Police Check, with formal education preferably to at least Year 12; a qualification in a customer service-related discipline is desirable.
- Demonstrated office experience including computer literacy, accurate keyboarding, maintaining quality documentation, and strong telephone and people skills.
- A commitment to personal integrity, continuous improvement and understanding customer expectations, together with demonstrated experience supporting colleagues and sharing workloads in a team environment.
- Ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities and work to timelines in a pressured and changing environment. Knowledge of Local Government and experience with electronic document management and accounting/finance systems are desirable.
As a candidate, you will be professional, service-oriented and committed to delivering a high standard of support to both internal and external customers. Your ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively and maintain accuracy will contribute to the effective operation of Council’s customer service function.
Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate will earn an attractive hourly rate of $34.45 PLUS 25% casual loading, super and a range of benefits including:
