About the role
The Senior Executive Assistant provides high-level confidential executive and secretariat support to the General Manager exercising sound judgement, discretion and initiative to effectively manage priorities and support the General Manager in achieving organisational and community objectives.
This is a pivotal, high-visibility role where you will act as the primary interface between the General Manager’s Office, the Mayor, Councillors, senior executives, government, community, and other key stakeholders.
The role requires the confidence and maturity to operate effectively within a complex local government environment involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
To be successful you will have:
- Significant demonstrated experience providing high-level executive support to a CEO, General Manager, C-suite executive or equivalent senior leader within a complex organisation (experience in Local Government or public sector is highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience providing high-level executive, board, committee, or council secretariat functions.
- Exceptional written and communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate, polished and appropriately sensitive executive correspondence and briefing material.
- Highly organised, resilient, and composed, with demonstrated ability to anticipate priorities, manage competing demands and remain effective when circumstances and priorities change rapidly.
- Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism, with demonstrated experience managing confidential, sensitive and complex matters.
