About the Organisation

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation delivering employment, training, and community services across New South Wales, regional Victoria and ACT. With a long-standing reputation for supporting individuals into sustainable employment, the organisation works closely with employers, education providers, and community organisations to create meaningful opportunities for people facing barriers to employment.

Driven by community impact and positive outcomes, the organisation is now evolving the role its local centres play within their communities. The vision is to create connected environments where participants, employers, community organisations and service providers can access opportunities, support and pathways in one place.

This is an exciting opportunity to join that evolution and play a key role in developing the relationships and partnerships that will bring this vision to life.

About the Role

We are seeking an engaging, relationship-focused Partnerships Manager to be based in Canberra and working across the ACT.

You will build strong local partnerships that create employment, training, work experience, referral and community participation pathways for participants.

More than a traditional stakeholder engagement role, you will develop a connected local ecosystem around the centre, bringing together employers, community organisations, education and training providers, support services and industry groups to create mutually beneficial opportunities.

A key focus will be generating participant referrals, establishing cross-referral and outreach pathways, and connecting people with the right services and opportunities. You will also work closely with local employers to understand workforce needs and identify opportunities for employment and industry collaboration.

The vision is for the centre to become a genuine community centre, where participants and partners can access and connect with a range of services, networks and opportunities in one welcoming environment.

This role will suit someone who is naturally engaging, commercially and community-minded, and knows how to turn robust relationships into tangible outcomes.

About You

The ideal applicant will have:

- Strong experience building and maintaining relationships with employers, community organisations, service providers and other external stakeholders
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and establish relationships based on trust and mutual benefit
- Experience developing partnerships, referral pathways, outreach opportunities or business/community networks
- An understanding of Employment Services and how strong community and employer relationships can drive participant engagement and referrals
- The ability to identify opportunities and turn relationships into practical employment, training, referral or participation outcomes
- Confidence representing an organisation within the local business and community environment
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify mutually beneficial opportunities
- An understanding of local labour markets, employers and workforce development would be highly regarded

- The ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and a broad range of external stakeholders
- Initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities
- A genuine commitment to supporting job seekers, local businesses and community development
- A current driver's licence
- Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check

The successful candidate is likely to be someone who enjoys being out in the community, meeting people, opening doors and creating opportunities. You may come from an Employment Services background, but equally could have developed your partnership and relationship-building skills through business development, recruitment, community services or another stakeholder-focused environment. Most importantly, you will be charismatic, highly engaging and able to quickly understand a concept, build buy-in and turn relationships into tangible outcomes.
