About the Role
As our Quality Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, compliance and performance of uniforms supplied under the Australian Defence Clothing Services (DCS) contract. Working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders and quality teams, you will lead quality assurance activities across the production lifecycle, oversee internal and factory audit programs, identify and mitigate quality risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This hands-on role combines technical quality expertise, supplier engagement and audit leadership to ensure products consistently meet stringent defence, contractual and regulatory standards while supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee bulk quality control activities across supplier factories, ensuring products meet DCS contractual, regulatory and quality standards.
- Conduct initial, inline and final production inspections, identifying and resolving quality issues before shipment.
- Lead the DCS Internal Audit Program, including audit scheduling, execution, reporting and corrective action follow-up.
- Conduct technical factory audits, including announced and unannounced inspections, to verify supplier compliance.
- Facilitate pre-production reviews and risk assessments to identify and address quality concerns before bulk manufacturing commences.
- Partner with suppliers to implement corrective actions, resolve non-conformances and improve quality performance.
- Train and support supplier quality teams to strengthen inspection capability and adherence to DCS standards.
- Investigate customer returns, quality incidents and recurring product issues, providing recommendations and driving resolution.
- Manage rework activities for non-conforming products and monitor supplier effectiveness in achieving required quality outcomes.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports and audit documentation while ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

What we’re looking for
- Must be able to pass ADF DISP clearance (Australian Citizenship Required)
- 5+ years' experience in quality control, including factory inspections, audits and supplier quality management.
- ISO 9001 & Lead Auditor experience highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience conducting quality management system (QMS) and process audits, including reporting findings and managing corrective actions.
- Preferably strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing, garment construction and quality assurance processes, ideally within regulated or contract-driven environments.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
