This is a hands-on, high-visibility role with a robust focus on month-end, inventory support & lots of analysis & AI work. Working closely with the Commodity Controller, you'll take ownership of key monthly duties with an eye on streamlining processes that could benefit the wider group. Duties include:
Analysis
- Maintain and improve Excel-based finance models, reconciliations and reporting tools.
- Validate rates and cost inputs against contracts and supporting documentation.
- Identify recurring issues and implement practical improvements to finance processes and controls.
- Support ad hoc analysis and broader finance projects as required.
Inventory/ Operations
- Support inventory reconciliations, stock reporting and investigation of variances across sites.
- Support weekly P&L; and operational reporting where required.
Month-End & Reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and supporting schedules.
- Investigate P&L; and balance sheet variances through to underlying transactional detail.
- Support monthly management reporting, including variance and trend analysis.
- Ensure transactions are appropriately coded, supported and reconciled.
Inventory & Operational Support
- Support inventory reconciliations, stock reporting and investigation of variances across sites.
- Assist with PO and inventory controls and ensure agreed processes are aligned
As the successful applicant, you will be degree qualified, enrolled or looking to enrol in your CA (the client has requested this qualification), have advanced Excel/ Power BI skills, have a keen interest or be working within AI tools. On a personal level you will be willing to learn, stretch and absorb all that the manager exposes you to.
