As a Hydrographer servicing Mackay & the surrounding Bowen Basin Coal Fields, you'll collect, analyse and maintain critical hydrometric assets and data that supports operational decision-making, regulatory compliance and asset management. This role offers variety and autonomy across a diverse range of field and technical activities. You'll enjoy a balance of field-based hydrographic work with technical troubleshooting and data processing.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality hydrometric data through monitoring, analysis and fault identification.
- Install, operate, test and commission remote monitoring equipment across sites.
- Effectively manage personal workload, priorities and field commitments to deliver quality outcomes, meet deadlines and respond to changing operational needs.
- Mentor junior team members and drive continuous improvement in hydrographic standards and monitoring performance.
About you
- Diploma in Hydrography (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain.
- Hydrographic field experience, including installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
- Robust fault-finding, testing, diagnostics and technical reporting capabilities.
- Ability to mentor team members, manage workflows and contribute to asset management and reliability outcomes.
- Ability to perform a range of physical tasks in changing outdoor conditions, including working in and around water environments and at times in remote areas.
