About the Company
This organisation operates across complex, highly regulated environments where technology plays a critical role in how people, teams and operations work.
The ICT function is undertaking a focused process transformation to simplify and standardise how technology access is managed across the employee lifecycle. The current process has evolved across different teams and environments, creating unnecessary manual effort, inconsistent ways of working and opportunities to improve both user experience and control.
This is an opportunity to join a high-calibre ICT environment where experienced people are trusted to get into the details, challenge the status quo and deliver. The assignment has a clear 12-week mandate and defined outcomes, making it particularly well suited to a Senior Business Analyst who enjoys coming into a complex environment, getting up to speed quickly and leaving behind a materially better way of working.
You will be working with experienced stakeholders across technology, people and security functions, with genuine scope to influence how the process operates going forward.
The Prospect
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will lead the end-to-end review and redesign of a high-volume ICT process spanning technology, HR and identity/access management.
You will establish a clear view of the current state, use data to understand where time, effort and risk are being created, and design a practical future-state process that can be adopted across the organisation.
This is a genuine process transformation assignment rather than a requirements-gathering exercise.
You will have the autonomy to shape the approach, facilitate the right conversations and take the organisation from discovery through to implementation and pilot.
What You'll Do
You’ll be given a clear 12-week mandate and the autonomy to determine how best to deliver it. Working across a broad stakeholder group, you’ll bring structure to a process that has evolved across different teams and environments, using a combination of data, process analysis and stakeholder insight to develop practical recommendations and drive them through to implementation.
- Establish the current state: Map the different access lifecycle processes across joiners, movers, leavers, contractors and specialist environments, documenting how work is actually performed today and where variations exist.
- Build the case for change: Analyse 12 months of ITSM data to quantify request volumes, effort, cycle times and rework, using the available data to identify the biggest opportunities for improvement.
- Design and embed the future state: Facilitate workshops and develop standardised processes, RACI, controls, approval points, SLAs, work instructions and request requirements that can be adopted operationally.
- Support delivery and continuous improvement:
Work alongside ICT teams through implementation and pilot activity, measure the results against the baseline and identify opportunities for future automation and optimisation.
What You'll Bring
You’re an experienced process BA who enjoys getting underneath how a business actually operates. You’ll be comfortable walking into an environment where the answer isn’t immediately obvious, asking the right questions, working through competing stakeholder views and turning complexity into a process that people can actually use. Most importantly, you know the difference between documenting a process and genuinely improving one.
- Strong BA foundation: 5+ years' Business Analysis experience in a technology environment, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end process redesign rather than purely requirements-focused work.
- Process expertise: Strong BPMN or equivalent process mapping capability, with examples of maps and future-state designs being adopted and used operationally.
- Data-driven approach: Experience working with ITSM or operational data to establish baselines, identify trends and quantify the impact of process issues.
- Stakeholder confidence: Excellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across ICT, HR, Cyber Security and operational teams.
- Relevant environment experience: JML, IAM, Microsoft 365 / Entra ID in complex/ regulated environments would be highly regarded.
Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply - we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
