Sustaining Australia's remote workforce, Village National is a leading provider of workforce accommodation villages across Central Queensland.
About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Breakfast Chef and a Swing Prep Cook for our Moranbah Village.
Known for our food and top level customer service to clients and guests, we are looking for reliable applicants to join our fast-paced team in ensuring our facilities meet that standard.
These positions will require you to live within the local region as this is NOT a FIFO position - you will be required to get to site at your own cost.

Responsibilities:
As the Breakfast Chef you will:
- Plan the menu and prepare tasty, fresh and wholesome food tailored to your 400+ guests.
- Be part of and lead a small team that works effectively together every day.
- Work to meet food-cost targets & other initiatives
As the Prep Cook you will:
- Assist the Chef with food prep for breakfast, crib and dinner for between 200 - 500+ guests
- Participate in-service cooking activities, as directed
- Support the Kitchen Hands, as requested
- Be willing to work day and night shifts
- Learn and build you expertise in bulk style cooking
These positions will assist in maintaining and driving a safe working culture.
Depending on which role, to be considered you will need to have:
- Certificate II (Prep Cook)
or Certificate III (Breakfast Chef) Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated professional cooking experience within a commercial workplace or similar
- Proven experience with bulk cooking (between 200 - 500 guests)
- Competent knife skills and sound buffet style experience (Prep Cook)
- Demonstrated understanding of HSE & Food Safety Standards
- Sound and clear communication skills
- Eligibility to live and work in Australia
While not essential, you will also ideally have:
- Variety of baking skills
- Experience or understanding of remote Hospitality Services
- Recognised Food Safety Certification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Forklift License
