My Way Support Tasmania is dedicated to empowering individuals living with disabilities to live their lives 'My Way.' Our organization champions and supports people with disabilities in making choices and decisions that positively impact their lives by offering person-centred support.

Position Overview:

We are seeking empathetic and experienced Disability Support Workers who are passionate about helping others achieve their life goals. In this role, you will provide active support to our clients, both within their homes and in the community, fostering independence and friendships. Your responsibilities will include encouraging clients to participate in a variety of day-to-day activities aligned with their hobbies, interests, and NDIS support plans. Throughout your duties, you will maintain respect for their culture, privacy, and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide daily living support and assist clients in accessing the community

- Engage clients in meal planning and management

- Offer transportation assistance

- Administer medication as needed

- Support clients in developing independence and social connections

- Implement and adhere to Behaviour Support Plans for clients with behaviours of concern

- Perform personal care tasks as required

Shifts Available:

We have a variety of shifts available, including afternoons, weekends,



nights (sleepover and active night shifts), and public holidays. Your role may involve personal care, capacity building through hobbies and skills development, domestic responsibilities, and community access.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Willingness to work versatile shifts and travel

- Medication endorsement

- Medication endorsement must be held at the time of application

- Proficiency in all aspects of personal care

- Experience working with clients who exhibit behaviours of concern, including understanding and implementing Behaviour Support Plans

- Basic exposure to behaviour support is required for working with clients who exhibit behaviours of concern

- Background in the Disability or Aged Care sector

- Minimum of 6 months experience in the Disability or Aged Care sector is must

- Valid Australian Driver's Licence

- Working with Vulnerable People card with NDIS endorsement

- Right to work in Australia

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Training Certificate

- Current First Aid & CPR certification
