About the Business
Our client is an established Sydney-based building and construction consultancy with approximately 20 staff, the majority of whom work within the building consultancy team.
The business provides a broad range of consultancy services across building defects, remedial construction, expert witness, litigation support, project management and cost consultancy.

Their services span building compliance and defect inspections, expert witness services, contractual claims and dispute management, cost reporting and assessments, remedial works and project management.
Approximately 60% of the consultancy's current workload relates to litigation and dispute work, providing excellent exposure for someone interested in developing their technical reporting, forensic investigation and expert witness experience.

You'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, with approximately 90% of the current workload involving Class 2 residential buildings.
Projects can involve investigating building defects, preparing technical reports, assisting with expert witness matters and developing remedial solutions before progressing through design coordination, tendering and project delivery.
This provides an prospect to follow projects considerably further than simply completing an inspection and issuing a report.
Depending on the project, you'll have exposure to the full process from initial investigation and assessment through design coordination, scope preparation, tendering,
contractor appointment, remedial works and final completion.
You'll work alongside experienced Building Consultants and Directors while progressively taking greater ownership of your own projects and client relationships.

Culture & Career Development

They're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, communicates well and can have a laugh while maintaining a professional approach with clients.
With approximately 20 people in the business, you'll have direct exposure to experienced senior consultants and Directors rather than becoming another number within a large corporate environment.
For someone ambitious, there is also the opportunity to broaden your experience across different areas of building consultancy and develop greater responsibility as the business continues to grow.
The business may also consider sponsorship for the right candidate with previous local experience.
