About the role

Initiate, formulate and manage extensive civil construction and maintenance works programs across the beautiful northern region of Toowoomba Regional Council. You'll execute a range of complex functions relating to civil construction and maintenance projects, including the preparation of specifications, project management and preparation of documentation surrounding projects and/or programs.

Provide leadership, mentoring and support to enhance staff productivity by solving problems and fostering an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork whilst building technical capability and capacity for integration, cooperation and problem solving.

- The Construction & Maintenance North (CMN) Branch plays a crucial role in driving capital and operational works projects and across a predominantly rural road and stormwater infrastructure network.

What you'll bring

- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).




- Registered Skilled Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) (or ability to acquire within six (6) months of commencement).
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent (or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
- Working in Proximity to Traffic Awareness Parts 1 and 2 (or obtained within three (3) months of commencement).
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Extensive related experience in a civil construction environment.
- Understanding of and commitment to Council’s Organisational Values and Behaviours (refer to 'Success Criteria').
