If you're an experienced Speech Pathologist who enjoys adult neurological rehabilitation, dysphagia and complex assessment work, this is an opportunity to step into an established caseload!
They're looking for a confident, well-rounded Speech Pathologist who enjoys working autonomously in the community and wants the opportunity to build a caseload around their clinical strengths.
Both permanent employment and contractor arrangements can be considered for the right clinician.
The Caseload:
The caseload is predominantly adults, with a strong focus on assessment and complex disability.
There is also some work with autistic children and adolescents, including language and communication needs, although adult referrals make up the majority of demand (tailored to your preferences)
Your responsibilities can include:
- Speech and communication assessments
- Dysphagia and swallowing assessments
- Development of mealtime management plans
- Evidence-based treatment and intervention planning
- Communication strategies and recommendations
- Education for participants, families, carers and support workers
- Liaising with support coordinators and other treating professionals
- Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary supports
- Maintaining high-quality clinical reports and documentation
This is a mobile, community-based position, so you'll need to genuinely enjoy getting out and seeing participants in their everyday environments.
Referrals currently span Greater Perth, with particularly robust demand around:
- Flexibility around how your caseload develops
- Predominantly adult referrals
- Strong exposure to neurological and complex disability work
- Significant assessment-based work
- Opportunity to work across dysphagia and mealtime management
- Variety across neurological, communication and psychosocial presentations
- Existing contractors within the service
- Opportunity to establish a caseload within your preferred geographical area where possible
- Scope to develop a long-term position as referral demand continues to grow
This could particularly suit an established contractor looking to add another referral stream, or an experienced clinician wanting greater autonomy without having to generate their own clients.
About You:
You'll ideally be an experienced Speech Pathologist who is confident working independently in the community.
Experience or confidence across adult disability, neurological conditions, dysphagia, complex assessments or psychosocial presentations will be highly regarded.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in Speech Pathology
- Full Australian working tights
- Full drivers license and car
