Hays is partnering with a South Australian organisation in the agriculture sector, seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join its finance team on a part-time basis. Located in the Adelaide CBD, this is an excellent prospect for a finance skilled looking for a varied role that offers flexibility, stability, and a supportive working environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance function while assisting with a range of administrative duties. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, requiring robust attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
Daily banking and cash receipting
Accounts payable processing, reconciliations, and supplier management
Accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and account maintenance
Bank and general ledger reconciliations
Assisting with month-end finance activities
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
General administrative and office support duties
Ad hoc support across the wider finance team
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in an Accounts Officer, Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, or similar role
Proven experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A positive, team-oriented approach
