About the Role
We are seeking a detail-focused Software Application Tester to support the delivery of custom-built software applications within a complex telecommunications setting. This role is ideal for someone who can work across business-critical systems, integrated platforms, customer and operational workflows, and release testing activities.
What You’ll Do
Analyse requirements, user stories, technical specifications, integration designs, and acceptance criteria to identify test coverage needs.
Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, regression packs, and traceability documentation.
Execute manual, system, integration, regression, user acceptance, and release readiness testing.
Raise, document, prioritise, retest, and close defects using agreed defect management processes and tools.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, product owners, network specialists, and operational teams to resolve issues and manage testing risks.
Prepare explicit test evidence, status updates, defect reports, release summaries, and test completion reports.
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen testing processes, automation coverage, and release quality.
About You
You have experience testing bespoke, custom-built,
or enterprise software applications in complex integrated settings within the telecommunications industry.
You understand the software testing lifecycle, defect lifecycle, release management, and quality assurance practices.
You can interpret functional specifications, solution designs, API specifications, and data mappings.
You have used industry-standard test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira and Zephyr.
You are familiar with test automation tools such as Selenium Grid, Flask and Pytest and API testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman and Newman.
You are analytical, organised, and able to investigate defects across multiple systems and stakeholder groups.
You communicate clearly and can explain defects, risks, blockers, and test outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You have relevant experience in software testing, quality assurance, telecommunications systems, or enterprise application delivery.
You have relevant qualification in information technology, software engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or a related discipline.
Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Melbourne VIC 3000
