Key responsibilities
Complex personal care: Assisting with high-intensity daily activities like complex bowel care, stoma care, and wound/pressure area management.
Health and medication support: Administering medications, including subcutaneous injections, and assisting with managing conditions like diabetes, seizures, or those requiring ventilation or tracheostomy support.
Medical equipment assistance:



Supporting the use of and maintaining equipment such as PEG tubes, urinary catheters, and hoists for transfers.
Mental health support: Providing trauma-informed care, emotional regulation strategies, and de-escalation techniques for clients with complex mental health needs.
Skill development: Teaching life skills, supporting community participation, and implementing strategies from allied health plans to promote independence.
Documentation and reporting: Maintaining accurate records, progress notes, and incident reports as required.
Team and client collaboration: Working with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure support aligns with the client's plan and the highest standards of care.
Safety and setting: Maintaining a secure, clean, and dignified workplace for the client, and using equipment like hoists safely.
