Full time COOK required

Cafe/restaurant open for breakfast and lunch only

7 day trading business so weekend work is essential in order to be considered, shift times can be adaptable. Responsibilities will include preparing ingredients for service as well as managing one kitchen hand throughout the day to assist in getting all jobs completed as well as a smooth service

Overview
Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Stock taking and ordering food supplies.
Assisting the Head Chef with their daily tasks.
Supervising & training other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

Liaising with Head Chef and FOH staff to ensure food preparation & meal services run smoothly.
Oversee meals as they are prepared to ensure appropriate quality standards.
Comply with nutrition, hygiene and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a positive and qualified approach with co-workers and customers.

Requirements
Proven cooking experience.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
Familiar with industry’s best practices.
