Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? As a Disability Support Officer (DSO), you'll support people with disability to achieve their goals, build independence and participate fully in their communities.
Working across home and community settings, you'll provide person-centred support that promotes wellbeing, develops skills and confidence, and creates opportunities for people to live the life they choose. Guided by our person-centred philosophy, "Everything About You, With You", we work alongside people rather than doing things for them.
Through our commitment to Active Support, you'll encourage individuals to take part in everyday activities, make their own decisions, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible. This is more than a support role, it's an prospect to build genuine relationships, foster inclusion and empower people to thrive.
We're looking for people who respect the rights, dignity and potential of people with disability and bring a positive, person-centred approach to their work. Solid communication skills, resilience, flexibility,
and the ability to work independently and collaboratively will help you succeed in this rewarding role. Experience in disability, aged care, community services, mental health, or a related field is highly regarded. However, we also welcome applicants who share our values and have a genuine passion for supporting others.
A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is required for the Disability Support Officer role and must be held prior to commencing employment.
