Beacon Legal has partnered with a leading global engineering and construction company in the search for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Brisbane office. This chance would suit a lawyer with around 8 years’ experience who is looking to step into a broad and commercially significant role.

We’re seeking a commercially minded and proactive construction lawyer to join a high-performing legal team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of front-end construction and project development work and the chance to work closely with a business operating in the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors. You’ll be part of a well-regarded in-house team supporting major, complex projects across Australia and globally.

About the Role

Lead and support the negotiation and drafting of a broad range of construction and project-related contracts.





Advise on legal and commercial risks across major infrastructure and resources projects.

Support stakeholders across project, procurement and commercial teams.

Manage external counsel where required.

Assist with governance and internal compliance processes.

Contribute to strategic project delivery and business growth initiatives.

What we’re looking for

Admitted to practise in Australia.

Around 8 years’ experience in construction, gained in private practice or in-house.

Strong front-end transactional experience, with exposure to construction contracts.

Experience in the mining sector is advantageous but not essential.

A mix of transactional and disputes experience will be considered.

Strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills.

A proactive, adaptable and team-oriented approach.

Excellent communication, drafting and problem-solving ability.

Comfortable working in a rapid-paced and evolving environment.
