This is a rare opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to inherit an established agribusiness, rural property and commercial practice with an existing client base and workflow already in place!
With a Principal transitioning out, you'll have the autonomy to take the practice forward, strengthen key relationships and capitalise on significant scope to further develop the firm's rural and agribusiness offering.
A substantial client following is not required, and for the right senior lawyer, there is genuine scope to grow the practice and potentially explore a pathway to equity over time.
Behind the opportunity is an established Queensland law firm with solid roots across regional Queensland. The firm acts for farming families, agribusinesses, business owners and regional communities, supported by broader generalist capability.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You’ll take carriage of a broad and wide-ranging practice encompassing but not limited to:
Agribusiness and rural advisory
Farm and rural property acquisitions, disposals and transfers
Rural business sales and acquisitions
Commercial transactions and general business advisory
Business structuring and reorganisations
Succession and intergenerational planning for farming families
Beyond managing key client relationships, you'll have the opportunity to develop recent business, strengthen referral networks and increase the firm's profile across the rural and agribusiness market.
This is an opportunity to make an established practice your own and play a meaningful role in its future direction.
THE CANDIDATE
You’ll likely be an experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel with a background across agribusiness, rural property, commercial and/or succession law.
You’ll be confident managing matters and senior client relationships independently, with the commercial mindset and relationship-building skills to identify and develop new opportunities.

Competitive salary + bonus structure
