About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapy Team Leader to join our Newcastle team. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with team leadership, supporting a diverse paediatric caseload while mentoring and developing our Occupational Therapy team. You will work closely with OTs, families and our multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based and client-centred care.
Key responsibilities
Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the OT team, including caseloads, scheduling and service delivery.
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, coaching and career development to OTs.
Support complex case management and clinical decision-making.
Collaborate with psychologists, behavioural support practitioners and other allied health specialists.
Monitor clinical quality, documentation, compliance and professional standards.
Promote evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and creative approaches to care.
Support positive team culture, communication, performance and conflict resolution.
Liaise with clients, families and external stakeholders to coordinate care.
Work closely with the Director on team performance, service development, resources and strategic goals.
Maintain a clinical caseload as required,
ensuring leadership remains connected to frontline practice.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Demonstrated clinical experience, ideally within paediatric practice.
Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising other clinicians.
Robust communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Sound knowledge of NDIS, WHS, privacy and relevant Australian legislation.
A commitment to evidence-based, client-centred and holistic care.
Current National Criminal History Check.
Working With Children Check.
