The successful candidates will be self motivated and have the ability to perform at high standards with minimal supervision. You will need to have proven experience within the mining industry. The successful applicant must have a Backhoe License. Any environmental or Field assistant experience would be highly desirable.
The Field Assistant / Backhoe Operators provide field and logistical support to the Geology group. The most significant part of the role is to prepare and rehabilitate drill sites in accordance with our clients guidelines, and provide support to the Drilling Operations
The role includes:
Adhering to all safety and environmental considerations and our clients policies and procedures
Contribute to a proactive safety culture within the team, and have a robust commitment to secure working practices
Dig and prepare drill pits to support drilling operations;
Drill hole pegging and GPS navigation
Conduct soil sampling and sampling programs as directed
Conduct sample data entry accurately and in a timely manner
Dispatch samples in a timely manner and liaise with laboratory
Flagging and pegging of pending drill programs
Assist with drill site preparation and rehabilitation activities in accordance with safety, environmental and heritage requirements
Report any issues with vehicle and equipment maintenance
Assist with daily survey requirements as required
Conduct general housekeeping within all work areas
Successful applicants must have the necessary tickets for operating a backhoe with extensive knowledge and operating experience within the work that is involved.
This position is based on an attractive 8 on 6 off FIFO roster. Candidates are required to pass a pre employment medical and drug screen.
