Mackillop House, a Residential Aged Care home, is seeking a reliable and caring Catering Assistant to join our friendly hospitality team. In this hands-on role, you’ll support daily food services and help create a positive dining experience for our residents.
What you’ll be doing:
Assisting with meal preparation, plating, and service
Maintaining kitchen, servery, and dining area cleanliness
Following food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
Supporting residents with warm, respectful meal service
Working collaboratively with chefs and care teams
To be successful in this role you’ll need
A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
Robust communication skills and a positive attitude
Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential
Positive understanding of food safety practices,
kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
Able to establish and maintain skilled and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
