About The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Airworthiness leads the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) and provides strategic leadership across the Engineering function, ensuring continued airworthiness of the fleet and compliance with CASA regulatory requirements, company exposition standards and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the principal CASA liaison for continuing airworthiness matters
Maintain airworthiness policies, procedures and standards; advise the Accountable Manager and Executive Leadership on regulatory and operational risk
Lead and develop the Engineering function, mentoring direct reports and key engineering personnel
Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives, Mandatory Service Bulletins and mandatory ICA requirements




Maintain an effective Approved Maintenance Program and Reliability Program
Lead quality and compliance initiatives, supporting internal and external audits and corrective action programs
Champion Safety Management System (SMS) principles
Manage contracted maintenance providers and engineering service providers
Essential Requirements
Eligible to apply for a CASA Key Personnel position as Continuing Airworthiness Manager under CASR Part 42 MOS
Relevant aircraft maintenance engineering qualifications and/or CASA Aircraft Maintenance Licence
Extensive leadership experience within airline or aviation engineering environments
Comprehensive knowledge of CASR Part 42, Part 145, Part 21 and related Manual of Standards
Demonstrated experience with SMS, quality assurance and human factors programs
Full Australian working rights; eligible for required aviation security clearances and airport access permits
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
