What you will do
As senior Aboriginal policy and projects officer, you will improve Aboriginal healthcare across Victoria.
You will work across justice health, youth justice and correctional settings.
You will:
design and assessculturally safeimprovements to Aboriginal healthcare.
work with Aboriginal people in custody to understand their health needs and experiences.
work with service providers and justice teams to solve issues affectingsafeandappropriatehealthcare.
build strong working relationships that help resolve issues and improve outcomes for Aboriginal people.
prepare transparent reports, briefs and project documents that supportsounddecisions.
About you




You must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to apply for this designated position.
A relevant qualification in health care, public policy or justice is highly desirable.
You should also have:
strong knowledgeof Aboriginal society, culture and issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
sensitive communication skillsand the ability to work effectively with Victorian Aboriginal communities.
strong analytical skillsto research issues and identify policy and program needs.
strong communication and relationship skillsfor working with people across complex services.
