About the Role
Douglas Partners has built a genuinely impressive digital capability spanning field operations, project administration, reporting, data and emerging technologies - and now we're looking for someone to take it further.
As Digital Delivery Manager, you'll own execution: turning the technical direction set by our Head of IT into real, working outcomes.
You'll manage our internal development team, grow our citizen development programme, and keep external development partners accountable to quality and deadlines.
This is a hands‐on role for someone who wants to be in the delivery, not watching from the sidelines - writing and reviewing code, shaping how work gets scoped and sequenced and making sure what we build actually holds up.
If you're energised by the idea of building a digital function from a strong foundation - with real autonomy and a clear path to grow into a senior technology leadership role - this is built for you.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Management
Own the digital delivery pipeline end-to-end, from scoping through to deployment, working with the Head of IT and IT Committee on prioritisation
Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with clear scope, realistic timelines and strong stakeholder communication
Maintain visibility of risk and dependencies across all active work, engaging IT project managers on larger initiatives
Deliver value through configuration, extension and integration of existing systems - not just new builds
Team & Capability Leadership
Lead and grow our internal development team, setting standards and supporting professional development
Build and govern our citizen development programme, empowering staff to build digital solutions within the right guardrails
Manage external development partners to a high standard of delivery accountability and quality
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with the Head of IT, Internal Projects Lead and business unit leads to identify and prioritise digital opportunities
Translate business needs into clear, well‐defined specifications before development begins
Build genuine credibility across the business through reliable delivery and a real understanding of how we operate
Quality & Governance
Ensure solutions integrate cleanly with core platforms including Deltek Vantagepoint and the Microsoft ecosystem
Maintain consistency and manage technical debt across all delivered work
Set documentation standards so solutions stay maintainable and transferable and help shape delivery frameworks as the function grows
About You
You're a delivery-focused technologist who's just as comfortable writing and reviewing production code as you are leading a team and talking to senior stakeholders.
You've led digital, product or technology delivery before - perhaps as a development team lead, digital delivery manager or in an IT/systems role within professional services or an operationally complex business.
You'll bring:
Hands‐on C# / .
NET development experience, with exposure to Blazor or a comparable contemporary .
NET web stack (ASP.NET Core, Razor)
Confidence working in Azure DevOps - Boards, Repos (Git), and CI/CD pipelines
Experience deploying and operating applications in Azure, and a track record of setting code-quality standards
Working knowledge of how business systems connect - data flows, API integrations and platform dependencies
Familiarity with low-code tools like Power Automate or PowerApps, and a genuine interest in where AI and automation add real value
Strong people leadership skills, and the ability to scope, prioritise and sequence work against competing demands
A natural curiosity about how organisations work - you want to understand the business, not just manage a backlog
Why Join Us
Build, don't just maintain - take a strong existing digital capability and genuinely expand it
Real autonomy in a hands‐on role, with the backing of a clear technical direction from our Head of IT
A defined path to grow into a senior technology leadership role as the function scales
Join an employee‐owned company where our People, Integrity, Improvement and Excellence values are more than words on a wall
Work across a modern Microsoft‐based stack (C#/.NET, Blazor, Azure, Azure DevOps) solving real problems for a growing, industry‐leading consultancy
