Senior building services leadership role for a leading multi state head contractor
Provide technical and commercial expertise across complex services packages
Work from pre-construction through to completion, commissioning and handover
Projects $15m+ across high specification commercial fit-out and refurbishment
Provide strategic technical leadership across complex building services packages, supporting project teams through design development, construction delivery, commissioning and handover.
Our client is seeking an experiencedBuilding Services Managerto join their NSW construction team, providing specialist technical and commercial support across projects with significant and complex building services components.
The role will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure successful delivery of building services (mechanical & electrical) from pre-construction through to final completion.
This position will provide expertise across design development, procurement, installation, commissioning and quality management, ensuring services packages are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
As the Building Services Manager, you will play a key role in supporting project teams, improving services capability across the business and providing guidance on technical solutions, risk management and construction methodologies.
Will be working across multiple concurrent projects and be based between sites and the office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing high-level consultation on building services requirements with clients, consultants and project teams
Supporting tender submissions through review of services documentation, preliminary costings and subcontractor quotations
Assisting estimating and project teams with procurement and analysis of services subcontractors
Reviewing design and construct services solutions, attending design workshops and liaising with consultants and subcontractors
Investigating alternative design and installation methodologies to improve cost efficiency, programme and buildability
Technical Delivery & Quality Management
Providing technical support throughout construction delivery, commissioning and handover phases
Ensuring building services installations comply with contractual requirements, quality standards and regulatory obligations
Reviewing and monitoring services drawings, documentation and installation processes
Identifying project risks and supporting teams with effective solutions throughout delivery
Assisting with commissioning, certification and completion requirements for building services systems
Monitoring essential services compliance and documentation
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to project teams
Supporting the ongoing development of internal services capability through training and knowledge sharing
Working collaboratively with senior management, project teams,
consultants and subcontractors
Providing regular updates on key services issues, project risks and delivery outcomes
Building strong relationships and promoting a collaborative project delivery culture
Sustainability & Innovation
Supporting sustainability objectives across projects, including NABERS and Green Star requirements
Identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes through innovative services solutions
Supporting continuous improvement of systems, processes and services delivery practices
Qualifications and Requirements:
Construction, Engineering or Building Services qualification (or relevant trade background with equivalent experience).
Ideally Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer but will consider others.
Minimum 10+ years' experience in building services management within the construction industry
Extensive knowledge of building services installation and project delivery processes
Solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, contracts and regulatory requirements
Strong understanding of construction planning, programming and project performance measures
Ability to analyse technical and commercial information and communicate findings effectively
Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective team
Computer literacy across the Microsoft Office suite
Senior First Aid Certificate
Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
