In this role, you'll be hands-on delivering high-voltage (HV) testing services and providing trusted technical advice to AusNet and our external customers.
You'll play a key part in commissioning, condition assessment and diagnostic testing of primary electrical plant- helping ensure equipment is safe, reliable and ready for service.
You'll be out in the field conducting HV testing on a range of assets, including:
Power transformers
Cables
Generators and motors
Instrument transformers
Switchgear
Based at our Yarraville depot, you'll be part of the HV Testing Technical Services team.
The role involves regular travel across Victoria, with occasional interstate work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, site-based work and working closely with customers and technical teams.
Whatyou'llbe doing in this role:
Involved in day-to-day workload planning of testing team to ensure test equipment and personnel are appropriately utilised to maximise testing throughput and service levels
Liaise with Project Managers and Access Coordinators to identify resource requirements to meet HV testing demands
Leading the test crew as a Tester-in-Charge (TIC) to perform HV Testing
Ability to analyse test results independently and prepare test reports
Assist in developing, maintaining and improving testing processes, procedures and methodologies and ensure they meet the requirements of various accreditations
Assist in maintaining all HSEQ requirements for HV Testing team
Youdon'tneed to check everybox,howeverwe'relooking for a positive combination of:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferable
Technical leadership and expertise on HV testing
Communication and collaboration skills across business, supplier and partners spread across a broad geography
Excellent technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients
Safety leadership to support AusNet Services Mission Zero & HSEQ plan
Sharing learnings with your team and seeking opportunities to develop further in your role
You ask questions to identify and dig deeper into project roadblocks
Factory testing experience is advantageous
