About the role
We have millions of players, thousands of games, and no search function.
That is the opportunity.
This is a build from zero.
There is no existing team, no roadmap, no tooling and no strategy waiting for you to inherit.
You will audit where we actually stand, decide what matters, fix the technical foundations, build the content engine, and prove that organic search can move registrations and deposits rather than just traffic.
Once it is working, you will make the case for the team and hire it.
You will need to be genuinely hands on for the first stretch.
This is not a role where you brief an agency and review a deck.
It will suit someone who has done this in a competitive, restricted vertical before and wants to do it again with real autonomy and a founder who moves quickly.
What you will do
Strategy and foundations
Own the organic search strategy across both brands and all priority markets
Complete a baseline audit covering technical health, content, authority and competitive position, and deliver a prioritised roadmap




Establish the operating model, budget and technology stack for the function
Technical
Own site architecture, crawl efficiency, indexation, structured data, page performance and international search configuration, working directly with product and engineering
Lead search requirements for every migration, redesign, domain change and recent market launch
Content and authority
Own keyword, topic and entity research, and turn it into a content roadmap with defined quality standards
Direct genuine localisation across priority languages, not translation
Build a sustainable authority strategy through digital public relations, partnerships and editorial placement, and set the risk tolerance for link acquisition
Work alongside the affiliate function so that owned and affiliate activity complement each other rather than compete
Artificial intelligence search
Extend the strategy to visibility inside artificial intelligence generated answers, including citation measurement and content structured for accurate interpretation
Commercial accountability
Define the measurement framework connecting organic activity to registrations, first time depositors and cost per acquisition
Report performance, forecasts and investment cases to the executive team
Team
Build the headcount plan and business case, then recruit, onboard and lead the team
Select and manage agency and freelance partners, including scope, performance and commercial terms
What you bring
Direct experience delivering search engine optimisation within iGaming, online casino, sports betting or crypto is essential.
Operator side, affiliate side or agency side is fine, provided you personally owned the outcomes
A minimum of eight years in search engine optimisation,



including at least three with accountability for strategy and results at a senior level
Demonstrated experience building a search function from a standing start
Deep technical capability, with the ability to diagnose and specify issues credibly to engineers rather than relying on an agency to do it for you
Experience delivering organic search across multiple international markets and languages
Strong commercial numeracy, including building a business case, managing a budget, and defending investment against paid alternatives
The ability to influence senior stakeholders, including founder level, and to explain technical dependencies in plain commercial language
A current, evidenced view on how artificial intelligence search surfaces change organic strategy and measurement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
