About the role
Reporting into the Senior Global Category Manager, this role will support category strategy and product development within Global Product.
As the Category Specialist, you will assist in shaping category roadmaps and product requirements, evaluating product and market performance, providing a consumer lens across projects, collaborating with cross‐functional teams, and preparing presentations for key business communications.
This is an opportunity to join a high‐performing global product team, working alongside experienced product, designers, engineers, and research specialists to help shape the next generation of products.
This role carries a higher degree of stakeholder management than is typical for the position.
You'll work closely with a key development partner, requiring confidence in managing relationships, expectations, and communication.
This role is based in Sydney, Australia.
Key responsibilities include
Own the day‐to‐day coordination of a co‐development product portfolio with an international partner, including regular meetings across time zones, escalating anything complex or sensitive to the Senior Global Category Manager
Support category strategy, analysing performance, contribution margin, and market share across your category




Contribute insights and recommendations to category roadmaps and product strategy discussions
Work alongside Product Development Managers and engineers to shape Product Requirements and business case inputs
Provide direct support to the Senior Global Category Manager across a growing product range
Balance and deliver against two sets of development requirements, from Breville and our development partner, flagging any conflicts or tension to the Senior Global Category Manager to collaboratively resolve
Brief and collaborate with the Research team on qualitative and quantitative consumer studies
Develop early pricing, volume, and forecasting inputs, and align with regional teams on assumptions
Prepare and deliver presentations for product reviews, Stage Gate, and Go‐To‐Market briefings
Support product launches with product knowledge, training input, and GTM collaboration
Build and maintain strong working relationships across a diverse stakeholder group, including parties with differing priorities, working styles, or ways of operating
Act as the day‐to‐day point of contact for stakeholders beyond your immediate team, managing routine communication and follow‐through, supported by the Senior Global Category Manager for anything higher‐stakes or complex
Continuous identification of opportunities to improve processes
We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Have
3+ years' experience in product management, category management, commercial, or marketing within a cross‐functional consumer products environment
Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing,



Engineering, Design, or a related field
Experience contributing to product development from concept through to launch
Comfort working with pricing, contribution margin, and forecasting data
Exposure to market or consumer research, briefing, participating, or interpreting findings
Comfort engaging with a range of stakeholders, and building experience to manage more complex or higher‐stakes relationships with support from your manager
Experience balancing competing requirements or priorities across multiple stakeholders or organisations
Comfortable representing the business professionally in interactions outside the immediate team, with a proactive approach to keeping relationships on track
Robust organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise workloads
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A growth mindset, open to feedback and keen to build product judgement over time
