Full time, Fixed term for two (2) years with potential for extension contingent on fundingOpportunity to contribute to world-leading research in future intelligent wireless communications and AIoTBase Salary $117,936 - $125,896 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe Centre for IoT and Telecommunications (CIoTT) in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct cutting-edge research in Ambient Backscatter Communications (AmBC), next-generation RFID, future intelligent wireless communications and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT).
Working closely with academic researchers and industry partners, you will contribute to the development of next-generation intelligent wireless systems that integrate communication, sensing and computing within a unified network.
This role offers the opportunity to advance fundamental theories and enabling technologies while supporting the translation of research outcomes into practical industry solutionsYour key responsibilities will be to:develop fundamental theories and enabling technologies for intelligent wireless communication systemsdesign, model and evaluate integrated communication, sensing and computing technologieswork closely with industry partners to support technology development in real-world applicationspublish research outcomes in leading international journals and conferencescontribute to the supervision and mentoring of postgraduate research students within CIoTTmanage research activities, documentation and project timelines.About youa PhD in wireless communications, artificial intelligence, signal processing or a related disciplinedemonstrated research expertise in one or more of MIMO, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS),
wireless AI, integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) or wireless system optimisationa strong track record of publications in internationally recognised journals and conferencesexperience in ambient backscatter communication and wireless power transfer design or related wireless networking technologies (desirable)experience supporting postgraduate research students and contributing to collaborative research projectsstrong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.To keep our community protected, please be aware of our COVID safety precautions which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Pre-employment checks and declarationsYour employment is conditional upon the successful completion of all pre-employment or background checks required for the role in terms satisfactory to the University.
