We are looking for a
Ready to Work Employment Broker
who is proactive, relationship-focused, and passionate about helping people rebuild their lives through work.
In this rewarding role, you'll engage employers and create sustainable job opportunities for participants in the Northern Territory Department of Corrections Ready to Work program, connecting individuals leaving prison with meaningful employment through collaboration and advocacy.
This position offers a unique opportunity to help establish and grow services in a recent region for Workskil Australia, while building strong local relationships with employers, industry partners, and community organisations, and supporting participants to successfully transition from custody into meaningful employment.
About the Role
As a Ready to Work Employment Broker, you'll be responsible for:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers to secure sustainable employment opportunities for participants
Engaging businesses committed to First Nations employment and inclusive recruitment for people with a history of incarceration
Proactively promoting participants through reverse marketing and employer engagement
Coordinating interviews, negotiating employment arrangements, and facilitating wage subsidies
Promoting the Ready to Work and Industry Stream programs to employers and key stakeholders
Supporting the Program Manager to deliver and coordinate key industry engagement activities, events and pre-employment and training programs for participants and employer partners.
Collaborating with Marketing to develop promotional materials and run events such as prison job expos employer and employability skills sessions
Working with Employment Mentors and internal teams to achieve employment outcomes and KPIs
Applying strong recruitment, negotiation,
and advocacy skills to match participants with suitable and sustainable employment opportunities.
Role Details
Location:
Palmerston, Darwin with some travel required.
Employment Type:
Full Time, Ongoing
Hours:
8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday – Friday.
About You
We're seeking someone who is:
Passionate about connecting people with meaningful employment and supporting successful reintegration
Experienced in employment services, recruitment, labour hire, or community services
Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with employers and stakeholders
Confident in applying recruitment, negotiation, and advocacy skills to achieve outcomes
Culturally competent, particularly when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants
Organised, proactive, and able to meet performance and reporting requirements
Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and data-driven in approach
Qualified (or willing to obtain) a Certificate IV in Employment Services, Career Development, or Community Services
Holding a current driver's licence and able to travel extensively across the Northern Territory
Committed to safe, inclusive, and culturally aware service delivery
