Our client is a large, purpose-driven human services organisation delivering a diverse portfolio of care, education and community services across multiple locations.
Supporting children, individuals, families and communities, the organisation operates within complex and highly regulated environments and is committed to providing safe, high-quality and person-centred services.
With a robust values-led culture and a clear commitment to social impact, the organisation is entering an important phase of continued growth, transformation and operational development.
This creates an outstanding opportunity for an experienced executive to strengthen enterprise performance while ensuring quality services and positive outcomes remain at the heart of decision-making.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer will provide integrated leadership across a significant and diverse operational service portfolio.
Leading through a team of experienced General Managers, you will translate organisational strategy into measurable operational, financial, workforce, service and growth outcomes.
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will establish a strong enterprise operating rhythm and bring greater consistency, accountability and collaboration across multiple service streams, while respecting the specialist practice and regulatory requirements of each.
You will lead initiatives to strengthen operational performance, improve systems and processes, leverage economies of scale and build organisational capability.
The role will also have a strong focus on financial sustainability, service quality, workforce performance,

risk and governance, digital and operational transformation, and identifying opportunities for sustainable service growth.
Importantly, this is an opportunity to combine commercial and operational discipline with genuine purpose.
You will work closely with senior leaders to create an accountable, collaborative and high-performing culture while ensuring organisational performance translates into better outcomes for the people and communities the organisation serves.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a highly experienced, enterprise-minded executive with a track record of leading complex, multi-site operations and significant workforce and financial portfolios.
Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, you will bring sound judgement, commercial discipline and an ability to lead significant change while maintaining service quality.
Ideally, you will demonstrate:
Significant senior executive leadership experience within large, complex and multi-site service environments.
Experience leading through General Managers or equivalent senior leaders across multiple service lines or business units.
Proven success improving operational performance, accountability, efficiency and organisational capability.

Experience implementing enterprise operating models, standardising processes and leveraging scale across diverse operations.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, including responsibility for substantial budgets, forecasting, productivity and sustainable performance.
A successful track record leading organisational transformation, service redesign, digital implementation and continuous improvement.
Experience within regulated human services, health, care, education, community services or another complex client-facing environment.
A strong understanding of quality, safeguarding, risk, governance, compliance and workplace health and safety.
The ability to identify and develop sustainable growth opportunities while balancing commercial, service and community outcomes.
Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility to engage effectively with governing bodies, regulators, funders, partners and community stakeholders.
A collaborative and values-led leadership style, with the ability to build strong executive teams and create a culture of accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, management, health, human services, education, commerce or a related discipline, with postgraduate management qualifications highly regarded.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a broad and influential Chief Operating Officer mandate, helping shape the next phase of a substantial purpose-driven organisation while delivering sustainable performance and lasting community impact.
