This is a Part time position in a fast-paced, acute care environment, where you will assess and manage patients presenting with urgent and complex eye conditions. You will be required to work in a clinically confident capacity, often independently, making confident clinical decisions in a time-sensitive environment.
Key responsibilities
Assess and manage patients presenting with urgent and complex eye conditions
Diagnose and manage ocular pathology and acute presentations
Make confident clinical decisions in a time-sensitive environment
Explain clinical findings and treatment plans to patients
Manage patients through initial assessment, management and follow-up
Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of clinical care
Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals
About you
Current AHPRA registration as a Therapeutic Optometrist
Strong clinical experience and a high level of attention to detail
Extensive exposure to ocular pathology and acute presentations
Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
Confidence managing patients in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication skills
Strong patient-centred care experience
Professional, empathetic and reassuring manner with patients
Open to flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
