Coolways Solution Pty Ltd is the employing entity within the Coolway Trans Group, an Australian-owned refrigeratedtransportand cold-chainlogisticsoperator.
The Groupoperatesa fleet of temperature-controlled prime movers and refrigerated trailers from depots in Jandakot, Western Australia; Glendenning and Yennora, New South Wales; Epping, Victoria; and Morningside, Queensland.The Group alsooperatesa fleet of refrigerated rail containers on the east–west corridor, moving temperature-controlled freight in conjunction with national rail operators.
We provide refrigerated line-haul, metropolitan distribution, storage and associated cold-chainlogisticsservices to customers throughout Australia.
About the role
Coolways Solution Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport Company Manager to direct and control the operational and commercial performance of our refrigerated transport operations from our Jandakot depot.
Reporting to theHead of National Operations, the successful applicant will have responsibility for fleet operations, transport scheduling, customer service, depot performance, operational budgets,employeesand regulatory compliance.
The Jandakot depot is the Group's Western Australian base for interstate road train line-haul and for the cartage of rail-carried refrigerated freight to and from intermodal terminalsoperatedby Pacific National and Aurizon. The depot also incorporates on-site freezer and chiller storage supporting the Group's transport operations. In addition to accountability for the Western Australian operation, the position directs the Group's national refrigerated rail container fleet across the east–west corridor and manages the line-haul drivers accredited for corridor operations.
The position will oversee the Jandakot depot and Western Australian line-haul and metropolitan distribution operations while coordinating with interstate depots, customers,suppliersand workshops.
This is a senior, hands-on management position requiring strong commercial,operationaland people-management capabilities.
Key responsibilities
Direct and control the operational and commercial performance of the company's refrigerated transport operations.
Plan and coordinate the arrival,turnaroundand dispatch of interstate road trains at the Jandakot depot, including load planning, driverallocationand scheduling of return loads.
Coordinate the cartage of rail-carried refrigerated freight to and from intermodal terminals, including container collection and delivery scheduling, and liaison with rail operators and terminal staff.
Direct the allocation,utilisationand turnaround of the Group's national refrigerated rail container fleet across the east–west corridor, including scheduling of container movements between eastern and western depots and liaison with rail operators on capacity and service performance.
Manage road train assembly and breakdown at the depot and ensure compliance withWestern Australian roadtrain access,routeandpermitconditions.
Manage the acquisition, replacement and disposal of prime movers, refrigerated trailers, refrigerationunitsand ancillary transport equipment.
Oversee preventative servicing programs, workshop arrangements,



refrigeration-unit maintenance and bulk-fuel supply arrangements.
Monitor fleet availability, utilisation, fuel consumption, maintenancecostsand operating performance.
Meet with customers todeterminetheir freight,deliveryand cold-chain service requirements.
Advise customers onappropriate vehicleconfigurations, service capabilities, transport conditions, cartageratesand contractual terms.
Manage key customer relationships, negotiate freight rates and service terms, and resolve escalated customer complaints.
Oversee the receipt and processing of customer orders, freightbookingsand transport instructions.
Develop,approveandmonitorline-haul and metropolitan transport schedules.
Direct the allocation of vehicles, refrigerated trailers and drivers to meet customer requirements and operational priorities.
Set andmonitorthe carriage and storage conditionsrequiredtomaintainproduct integrity, including temperature set points, refrigerationmonitoringand cold-chain documentation.
Coordinate the collection and delivery of freight and the movement of vehicles between depots, customersitesand workshops.
Oversee the operation of on-site freezer and chiller storage in support of the depot's transport operations, including space utilisation, stockmovementand temperature compliance.
Maintain operational and commercial records and prepare management reports covering fleet utilisation, on-time delivery performance, cost per kilometre, transportexpenditureand operating margin.
Prepare and control operational budgets,monitortransport costs and implement productivity and efficiency improvements.
Lead depot supervisors, transport allocators,driversand other operational employees.
Manage the Group's line-haul drivers accredited for east–west corridor operations, including allocation, rostering, performancemanagementand compliance supervision across the corridor.
Manage workforce planning, recruitment, rostering, training, development, performancemanagementand employee conduct.
Establish andmaintainoperational procedures, performancestandardsand management controls.
Ensure compliance with applicable work health and safety legislation and with heavy vehicle regulation across both national and Western Australian frameworks,including the Heavy Vehicle National Law and NHVAS accreditation conditions applying in participating jurisdictions, and WesternAustralian heavy vehicle and road train access requirements administered by Main Roads Western Australia,together with Chain of Responsibility obligations, fatigue-management and mass-management requirements and food-safety requirements.
Investigate transport incidents, safety events, customer-service failures, temperaturebreachesand operational non-conformances.
Implement corrective and preventative actions following incidents, complaints,auditsand compliance investigations.
Report operational performance, risks,incidentsand improvement initiatives to theHead of National Operations.




Coordinate with interstate depots tomaintainconsistent operating standards, customer-servicelevelsand cold-chain procedures.
Qualifications,skillsand experience
The successful applicant will have:
An AQFAssociate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher qualification in transport andlogistics,logisticsmanagement, supply chain management, businessmanagementor a related discipline. Applicants without a formal qualification will be considered where they hold at least three years of relevant transport-management experience.
A minimum of three years' management experience in a commercial road-transport operation, covering fleet operations, transport scheduling, operational employees, customerserviceand cost control.
Experience directing and controlling a transport operation, rather than solely performing allocation,schedulingor administrative duties.
Demonstrated experience managing interstate line-haul operations, including multi-combination or road train movements, and managing driving staffoperatingacross multiplejurisdictions.
Experience coordinating intermodal freight movements and cartage to and from rail terminals will be highly regarded.
Working knowledge ofthe Heavy Vehicle National Law and NHVAS accreditation, together with Western Australian heavy vehicle and road train access requirements administered by Main Roads Western Australia,Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, mass management and work health and safety obligations.
Practical experience using transport-management systems, fleet telematics, vehicle-trackingsystemsand operational reporting tools.
Demonstrated experience managing commercial customer accounts and negotiating freight rates and service terms.
Experience preparing and controlling operational budgets andmonitoringtransport operating costs.
Solid analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to interpret fleet, cost,deliveryand customer-performance data.
Strong leadership, communication,negotiationand problem-solving capabilities.
The ability to lead employees working across different shifts and transport schedules.
A current driver licence valid in Australia, or the ability to obtain one beforecommencingemployment.
Experience managing refrigerated transport, temperature-controlled freight, fooddistributionor other cold-chainlogisticsoperations will be highly regarded.
Salary and employment conditions
The position offers a base salary of $150,000–$160,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
The final salary will be determined according to the successful applicant's qualifications, relevant managementexperienceand demonstrated capabilities.
Employment conditions will be no less favourable than those provided to an equivalent Australian employee performing the same work at the same location.
Work location
The primary place of work is Jandakot, WA ****.
Occasional travel to customer sites, workshops and rail terminals may be required.The position may also require periodic interstate travel to the Group's other depots to oversee operations,maintainconsistent operatingstandardsand provide management support.
