About the role:
We're looking for an experienced
Scheduling & Workforce Operations Manager
to lead our scheduling and workforce optimisation function across
Aged Care & Home Safety
.
Reporting to the
General Manager – Aged Care & Home Safety
, you'll lead a multidisciplinary scheduling team and take ownership of a critical operational function - ensuring the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the
strategic direction, transformation and continuous improvement
of the scheduling and workforce optimisation function.
Develop and implement
workforce planning, forecasting and optimisation strategies
across multiple service streams, covering short, medium and long-term horizons.
Use
data, analytics and operational intelligence
to identify workforce trends, capacity gaps, emerging risks and opportunities.
Improve roster efficiency, workforce utilisation and service capacity while balancing
client outcomes, workforce wellbeing and financial sustainability
.
Establish consistent
scheduling principles, standards and optimisation practices
across the organisation.
Translate workforce insights into practical business decisions and provide clear, meaningful reporting to senior leaders.
Drive performance against
operational, financial and service KPIs
, ensuring workforce deployment aligns with funding models,
industrial requirements and regulatory obligations.
Lead continuous improvement across scheduling systems, processes and ways of working to create a smarter, more responsive and data‐led workforce function.
Build strong partnerships across the organisation, collaborating with
Regional Managers, Service Leaders, Support Staff Leads, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and HR
to ensure workforce planning and deployment effectively support frontline service delivery.
Coach, mentor and develop your team, building internal capability and fostering a
psychologically safe, inclusive and high‐performing culture

Hybrid working arrangements, with
three days per week based at a Centacare office and up to two days working from home

Skills and Experience:
5+ years' senior leadership experience
, preferably within aged care, disability, community services, healthcare or another complex workforce environment.
Experience using
AlayaCare and strong working knowledge of the SCHADS Award
are advantageous.
Proven experience leading
high-volume scheduling, rostering, workforce planning or workforce optimisation
functions.
Strong understanding of how workforce supply, client demand, productivity and financial performance interact.
Demonstrated ability to use
workforce analytics, reporting and data insights
to drive operational decisions.
Experience developing workforce forecasts, dashboards, KPIs and performance reporting.
A track record of leading
continuous improvement and operational transformation
.
Strong commercial judgement, including experience managing overtime, agency utilisation, leave and workforce costs.
A strong understanding of industrial instruments, workforce compliance and relevant regulatory environments.
Exceptional people leadership skills, with a genuine commitment to coaching, development, accountability and engagement.
The ability to operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and bring people with you through change.
Tertiary qualification in Management, Human Services, Workforce Planning, Disability or Aged Care or other related discipline.
Ability to obtain and maintain a current driver's license, blue card, criminal history check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and evidence of rights to work in Australia.
