About the Department - Program Monash Children's Hospital is one of Australia's leading providers of integrated children's health services, and one of the largest children's hospitals in Australia. Monash Children's Hospital is a network of paediatric healthcare services with the main campus co-located with Monash Medical Centre, and services at Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital.




Murrumbek Casey Early Parenting Centre is a nurse-led multi-disciplinary wellness service that provides specialist support to families with children from birth to four years of age, to enhance their relationships and achieve their parenting goals. About the Role
Join our team as a Grade 2 Child Life Therapist on a part time (30.4 hours per week), ongoing role, based at Murrumbek Casey Early Parenting Centre in Clyde North. The Child Life Therapist will contribute their specialist knowledge in child development to provide play opportunities to strengthen parent-caregiver and child relationships, promote wellbeing, and support the child's development.
The Child Life Therapist will be a collaborative team member contributing within a multi-disciplinary team supporting children and their parents-caregivers. Provide play experiences attuned to family's needs and preferences, that support the development of the child Work alongside parents to strengthen child and caregiver relationships and build their confidence and skills
Create welcoming, inclusive, family-centred play environments Collaborate with the team to devise, improve, implement and evaluate new and-or existing child life therapy services About
You To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes: Child Life Therapist with a warm,



engaging approach and a passion for supporting children and families through the early childhood journey
Experience in paediatric settings with a strong knowledge of the importance of play for children's development, well-being and bonding with their caregivers A desire to collaborate with others and show exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Creativity in problem solving and a flexible approach
Mandatory requirements of the role Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood or Primary Teaching (4 years full time)
OR An equivalent undergraduate or postgraduate qualification that includes at least two years of formal study in child development (This may include allied health professionals with qualifications that meet the child development study requirement.) Eligibility for professional membership with the Association of Child Life Therapists Australia (ACLTA)
