As a Plumber within our Defence Base Services contract, you'll play an important role maintaining essential water, sewer, drainage and gas infrastructure across Simpson Barracks. About the Role
No two days are the same. You'll perform a combination of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a busy Defence site, helping to keep critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and associated infrastructure
Working on water, sewer, drainage and gas systems
Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
Conducting planned and reactive maintenance activities
Completing inspections, testing and compliance documentation
Performing water treatment testing and system adjustments
Working closely with supervisors,



subcontractors and other trades
Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service
Participating in after-hours call outs when required
About You:
You take pride in your work, have a strong safety mindset and enjoy working as part of a team. You're adaptable, reliable and motivated by delivering quality outcomes.
To be successful, you'll bring:
Cert III in Plumbing Required (Cert IV desirable but not essential)
Experience within a maintenance environment undertaking planned and reactive works
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
Commitment to safety, compliance and quality workmanship
Solid communication and teamwork skills
Current driver's licence
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
Experience working within Defence, government, industrial or large commercial environments
Important Requirements
Due to the nature of this Defence contract, applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
The successful candidate will also be required to complete a pre-employment medical and police check.
