Program Manager – Domestic & Family Violence (CALD Focus)

As the Program Manager, you will lead the Support, Assessment, Referral and Advocacy (SARA) Program – a specialised domestic and family violence (DFV) support service for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women and children based on the Gold Coast. You will lead and support the SARA team in providing high-quality, culturally secure DFV services, manage your own case load, and ensure risk, safety, and wellbeing assessments are conducted with care and professionalism. You will advocate for clients and ensure services align with the DFV Practice Principles and Cross-Cultural Competency standards, build and maintain strong partnerships with CALD-specific and mainstream community organisations, provide staff supervision and professional development, and manage reporting to funding bodies and compliance.
Key responsibilities
Lead and support the SARA team in providing high-quality, culturally safe DFV services
Manage your own case load and ensure risk, safety, and wellbeing assessments are conducted with care and professionalism
Advocate for clients and ensure services align with the DFV Practice Principles and Cross-Cultural Competency standards
Build and maintain strong partnerships with CALD-specific and mainstream community organisations
Provide staff supervision, professional development, and ongoing training
Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, and audit tools
Support high-risk DFV cases through direct and team-based approaches
Represent the SARA Program at community events and stakeholder forums
Supervise case workers providing court support and referrals to women navigating legal processes
Manage the HSQF framework including conducting regular audits of client services against the DFV Practice Principles, Standards and Guidelines *****), and Cross-Cultural Competency frameworks
About you
Relevant tertiary qualifications in human services, social work or related fields
Demonstrated experience in DFV support and leading high-risk cases, crisis intervention, and program leadership
Strong knowledge of DFV and child protection legislation, CALD community dynamics, and the impact of intersectionality
Excellent interpersonal, communication, advocacy, and leadership skills
A current valid Police check, or willingness to undertake a Police check
A current driver's licence
A current valid Blue Card or the ability to obtain a valid Blue Card
Experience working with migrant and refugee women and families (desirable)
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and court support services related to DFV (desirable)
