Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation:
Wash, scrape, sand, and prepare interior and exterior surfaces. Repair woodwork, fill cracks, holes, and joins with suitable fillers, and seal substrates prior to coating.
Site Setup & Safety:
Erect scaffolding, ladders, and access platforms safely. Lay drop sheets and apply masking tape to protect surrounding areas, glass, and fixtures.
Paint Preparation:
Select, mix, and match paints and stains to required colors and specifications using correct pigments, thinners, and additives.
Application:
Apply primers, undercoats, and decorative topcoats using brushes, rollers, and airless spray equipment.
Equipment & Site Maintenance:
Clean and maintain painting tools, spray apparatus, and work areas.



Ensure safe handling and disposal of paints and solvents.
Site Management:
Working across multiple interior and exterior sites, maintaining an inventory of supplies, and ensuring clean-up post-project.
Quality Control:
Identifying hazards or defects and undertaking inspections to ensure a superior finish.
Skill & Experience
Experience:
A minimum of
1 year of full time work experience
as a Painter.
Qualification:
Relevant Trade Qualification (Minimum
AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
).
Safety Card:
General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
Working With Children Check
Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
Licence:
Valid Driver's Licence.
Technical Skills:
Strong experience in surface preparation,cut and roll, and spray painting.
Physical Capability:
Ability to work comfortably at heights, handle equipment, and perform physical trade work.
Safety Awareness:
Good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
Availability:
Immediate start is available for the successful candidate.
