Full time, 2-year fixed term contract | Curtin Bentley Campus Competitive remuneration + 17% super contributions Ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide (ARWU ****) Reference Number: ******* About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic Librarian to join the Research Services team and deliver high-quality research support and training to staff and higher degree by research students.
Reporting to the Manager, Library Research Services, you will play a key role in implementing the University's institution-wide Persistent Identifier (PID) strategy.
You will drive PID adoption across the University, working closely with the Research Office, Graduate Research School, Digital Technology Solutions and Library colleagues responsible for the University Publication Management System, Symplectic Elements and institutional repository, CURATE (Figshare).
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to a range of Library projects and programmes, helping to enhance research services and support the University's research community.
Your responsibilities will include: Support Curtin's PID Strategy through the implementation of PIDs that persistently identify researchers (ORCID), organisations (ROR), research projects (RAiD), and outputs including publications, datasets, and research equipment (DOI) Coordinate and deliver promotion and outreach campaigns Develop explicit and practical guidance for the Curtin research community on best practice PID adoption Deliver training and drop-in support for HDR students and research support staff Contribute to reporting on PID adoption and coverage for internal stakeholders Maintain accurate documentation of workflows, procedures, and data quality standards to support handover and long-term sustainability Contribute to Library initiatives, team planning, working parties, and teams Who we are looking for (selection criteria): A professional qualification in librarianship recognised for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, supported by relevant work experience Strong attention to detail, with well-developed analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Experience interpreting, assessing,



and applying technical and procedural documentation, while also contributing to the development and improvement of process and support materials Proven ability to work collaboratively within and across teams, engaging with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to achieve shared objectives Capacity to quickly learn new systems, adapt to changing workflows, and respond flexibly in a dynamic environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups Strong time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands A proactive and innovative mindset, with a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving Role Requirements: As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction Curtin University Library The TL Robertson Library is a vibrant hub of knowledge at Curtin University which provides an array of innovative services and programs to support the University's research and the development of students as independent learners and researchers.
