The Role We are keen to connect with Intensive Care Registrars interested in joining a well-supported regional referral ICU with established CICM training opportunities.
This position offers broad exposure across adult intensive care, a high procedural workload and close consultant supervision within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
The unit manages a diverse mix of medical and surgical patients, including trauma, tropical diseases, interventional cardiology, obstetrics and selected paediatric presentations.




Registrars gain extensive experience in mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, advanced respiratory support and invasive procedures, while working alongside experienced Intensivists in a 24/7 registrar-led service.
The Hospital This major regional referral hospital provides specialist services across a large catchment in North Queensland and plays an significant role in delivering complex critical care outside the metropolitan setting.
The Intensive Care Unit features: 16 funded ICU beds.
More than 800 admissions annually, including paediatric patients.
General medical and surgical intensive care.
24/7 cardiac catheterisation service.
Dedicated ICU outreach service.
Active trauma, obstetric and multidisciplinary services.
