This is an excellent opportunity for a final year law student or recent graduate to gain exposure to a diverse range of in-house legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters within the banking industry.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the Bank, you will assist the Legal Team in delivering practical legal and governance support while developing your professional and commercial skills.
Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with legal research and the preparation of advice, guidance notes and briefing materials on legislative, regulatory and policy matters Supporting the review, administration and management of contracts, legal documentation and supplier arrangements Assisting with the development, maintenance and review of policies, frameworks,
procedures and governance documents Coordinating the preparation and distribution of Executive, Board and Board Committee agendas, papers and meeting materials through the Bank's board portal Attending Executive meetings and acting as minute secretary when required Supporting complaints, dispute resolution, privacy, subpoena and other legal and regulatory matters Assisting with the maintenance of legal registers, records, precedents and governance documentation Contributing to legal, regulatory and governance projects across the Bank Assisting with the development and delivery of legal and governance training to staff About You We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented final year law student or recent law graduate who is keen to build a career in an in-house legal and governance environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in law (or be in the final stages of completing your law degree) Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional correspondence and documentation A high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks through to completion Sound judgment, discretion and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage with staff at all levels of the organisation Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn Desirable Previous experience in a legal, compliance, governance, banking or professional services environment Experience preparing meeting papers, minutes or governance documentation Familiarity with legal research tools and legal document management processes An interest in banking, financial services, corporate governance and regulatory compliance Are you with us?
