About the Position The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out repairs and maintenance, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to a safe and reliable operating standard.
Key Responsibilities required Discuss vehicle problems with operators to discover faults.
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
Tune engines using electronic equipment and adjust for smoother running.
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.
Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.
Ability to work in a COVID-safe environment.
Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have: Australian Trade Qualified Certificate in Automotive Technology.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, vehicle servicing and repairs.
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
Experience with preventative maintenance and vehicle servicing.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
