We are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Tullamarine.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles across different makes and models.
Key Responsibilities Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools Inspect engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and drivetrain components to identify faults and defects Carry out servicing and preventive maintenance on passenger and commercial vehicles Perform engine oil and filter changes and other routine maintenance services Repair and replace worn or defective mechanical components and vehicle parts Carry out brake and clutch inspections, repairs and component replacements Perform transmission servicing, repairs and component replacements as required Diagnoses and repair suspension, steering, and drivetrain-related faults Perform engine repairs and engine replacement work in accordance with manufacturer specifications Carry out tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment services where required Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components and assemblies Test and adjust repaired components to ensure proper operation, safety and performance Use manufacturer service manuals,



technical specifications and diagnostic information when required Conduct detailed vehicle inspections to identify maintenance and repair requirements Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and servicing undertaken Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship Skills Experience At least 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Motor Mechanic Robust mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills Experience with vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance Experience in engine, transmission, brake, clutch, suspension and steering repairs Ability to use computerized automotive diagnostic equipment Ability to inspect, repair, replace and reassemble vehicle components Good understanding of automotive mechanical systems and repair procedures Ability to interpret technical manuals and manufacturer specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication, problem-solving and time-management skills Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements Qualifications AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in a related field Applicants with at least three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
